The New Professionals Release a New Single

The New Professionals are an indie rock quintet born out of the buzzing, frenetic energy of New York City. Richard Evans and Jerry Hart's early college jam sessions sparked a creative chemistry that rapidly evolved into a shared vision for crafting tightly woven rock songs. After graduating in 2019, they recruited friends Isaac Pincus, Oliver Divone, and Noah Sheridan to complete the lineup. Their self-titled debut dropped in 2021, marking their entry into a scene that always seems hungry for the next wave of guitar-driven anthems. Now, as they tease their sophomore album, Come Here Creature (set for a 2024 release), the band gives us a preview with the single "Come and Get It."

"Come and Get It" wears its '90s alt-rock influences on its sleeve, with shades of Modest Mouse, Weezer, and the crunchy, melodic sensibilities of that era bubbling to the surface. The track strikes a careful balance between restraint and catharsis—at times holding back with a simmering tension, at others bursting with full-throttle energy.

The musicianship here is solid, each instrument feeling purposeful and distinct, weaving together to support the song’s dynamic shifts. The melodies, especially, shine through in those moments where the band leans into their more emotive instincts.

For anyone nostalgic for the golden days of ‘90s alternative rock, The New Professionals are tapping into that sound with a modern twist, offering up a track that feels both familiar and refreshingly heartfelt.
