The Hard Rock Sounds of Bat Allison

The latest album release from Bat Allison delivers a set of truths and honesty that comes through in the form of what I would consider a blend of classic rock, alternative rock, and a fresh pop rock but it all boasts this outstanding personality, and I think that that's the thing that really lets you grab onto a lot of these songs and follow along.

The Tales of Temptations and Regrets album has a great flow to it but it also gives off this amazing sonic drive so the guitar tones are massive and really give this record the push towards a heavier and harder rock soundscape which in turn, lets the vocals come through with more energy and the whole band feed off of each other almost as if these songs were recorded live on the floor to an extent.

Each of these tracks has a little bit of a story behind it and with those stories you get a little chunk of personality, so the record is something that almost feels like a concept record of sorts but more so feels like each song is a chapter in the artist's life.

I definitely enjoy the youthful sort of cry out that these songs have but this blend of the youthfulness and the classic heavy rock really works wonders because you get this familiar feeling that comes through almost like waves of nostalgia at times and this is because the songs feel like tracks you've been listening to on rock radio stations for years now.

The energy once again, is incredibly electric so it does feel like a live performance and even if it wasn't recorded live on the floor, listening to the record makes you want to go see them perform it live in your face because if the album itself captures this kind of energy than seeing them perform it live would be awesome.

You can tell this comes from a group of people that really love their craft. Not just playing instruments or singing but writing songs together that come through with a punch, and an amazing mending of color, honesty, and edginess.

Some of the riffs on this record are just killer and they do indeed beckon classic metal and rock albums and that's part of where the whole nostalgia comes in at times. But this record blends a number of rock genres together to create a sort of atmosphere that feels authentic but also, it's hard exactly where it needs to be.

This is the kind of record where you should actually listen to the whole thing from beginning to end.

Yes, there are a few singles that stand on their own two feet very well but, if you listen to the whole record, it's more of an experience and this is the kind of album and the kind of band that reminds me of when I would hear a song on the radio and then go and buy the album from the store.

When you did that, you heard so much that it became more of an experience than just a record and that's what albums like this one represent in a way.

It's not super long. It's eight tracks spanning about 24 minutes or so and every track on this thing is worth listening to.

You should be listening to this record loud because the louder it goes, the more impact it has. Just like any kind of good heavy rock music.

The vocal approach is outstanding especially with the music because the vocalist brings together the energy between the music and the singing. Those two things balance each other out and also give each other more drive. Everything about this band lets you know that each member pushes the next so that they're giving off something that packs a heavy-handed punch but also makes perfect sense. Blending that thrashy sort of punk rock undertone with a vast alternative and classic heavy rock mentality comes through impactful.

This was a super fun record, and I would definitely check this out especially if you're any kind of fan of classic metal, punk, alternative rock, any kind of heavy rock that leaves a mark.

This album definitely left its mark with me, and you should check this out right now.

Remember where you heard it first.
