A new single release from Michelle Fabre delivers a lush soundscape and in a lowering honesty that gets pretty personal but very real at the same time, and throughout it all she comes through with a robust character and that's part of her personality shines all in the form of a track that gives off this sort of vintage soundscape that combines classic disco with Indie pop and hints of rock at the same time.
"Mutual" features that classic four-on-the-floor style beat which gives that disco element but it's also the guitar work rhythmically that adds to that aesthetic as well and gives you this extremely danceable and addictive groove.
This was certainly fun, and it was slightly edgy but still came through with a lot of color to it and it's got a perfect energy where it's not super over the top, but it's not calm either. It's very balanced in terms of the energy levels and so you end up finding yourself grooving in the seat of your car or moving your body along to the song really quickly.
Our vocals are one of the best attributes of this track hands down. This is because they are rich with personality and slightly animated where you can hear this bit of attitude that comes through and that attitude is perfect for the track.
It lets her give a piece of herself in an honest but still fun way that's not too serious even though she's speaking truths.
We're no strangers to Michelle and her music and this track really shows a bit of an evolution to how she writes and records her music because the production is outstanding on this track, and you could hear how much more her presence as an artist really comes out on the song as well.
She's very free on this track vocally and you can tell she's having a lot of fun with it and she's really in the moment.
Because she's in the moment, you end up being in the moment too and that's what's infectious about this track.
This is pretty lush and has some great instrumentation going on and the guitar work is another outstanding element of the song which helps it push forward and add a little bit of drive to that attitude.
I think that's cool as well. The way that each element of the song drives the next. The way that the song gives off the same energies as the vocals do.
The attitude comes through in the music just like they do in the vocals and so everything lines up super well.
This single speaks volumes about Michelle and how she's progressed as an artist but also how she's able to sort of change characters depending on what the single is and all in all, her ability to release music in these different genres depending on how she's feeling.
There are no two songs that are alike with this artist and the last few singles have definitely been an outstanding set.
Now, having said that, I do suggest reaching back to her album called find your fire in 2021 but not skipping out on some of the other singles that she's released after that.
It's like there's something for everyone in her catalog and I think that's amazing.
She just releases music with no walls built around it. She says how she feels and she's very open with everything.
You can feel that in the music and the lyrics and so you end up vibing with that whole approach.
This was a pop-coated single that shows a little bit of a bubbly but vivacious character.
This is just one side of Michelle and her songwriting and probably just one side of her personality as well.
Most certainly check this track out as soon as you can and then go through some of her other singles because it's well worth your time, again, there's something for everyone and you'll have a lot of fun diving into this catalog.
Remember where you heard it first.
