A fresh new single from Melody Mortal packs in a whole lot of character with an edgy and attitude riddled pop approach, and the track comes through insanely danceable and strangely addictive.
Perhaps it's that character and personality that you actually get addicted to the most but, the song certainly boasts a massive electro-pop soundscape that also hits a bit of a heavier alternative-pop feel as well.
"Everybody Hates Me" boasts outstanding synth textures and tones that really drive the track to where it needs to be along with a punchy beat and thick low end that adds that heaviness to it and all of this has robust and fiery undertones but, it's all in good fun of course.
One of the things I love about this track is the sheer fact that she's being honest about this whole thing as well. The lyrics come across fun but also honest so she is giving off a little piece of herself with this track, but she does it in such a colorful and alluring way that you can't help but love this track.
You can tell that Melody is having absolute fun during the creation of this one because that attitude and sort of animated vocal approach comes through with a vivacious attack and even though it's only good fun as I mentioned earlier, it still has some sharp nails to it.
This is the type of track that makes you want to dig deeper on the artist and that's because it lets her presence shine. She's got something that certain artists are missing and that does indeed come back to that character and personality. Vibrant but edgy way that the energy of the track becomes addictive.
You can tell that this is an artist that knows how to write a pop song that comes through as a real banger but also has that radio friendliness, packs a great sort of punch, and it's hard exactly where it needs to be but without being too over the top about it.
I think it's really important to have a track that has that balance to it.
Her vocal is perfect. She's got the attitude, she's got the charisma, she's got the honesty, and that artist presents really does come across heavily so although this is an outstanding radio alt pop single, it still has some layers to it.
She's got a handful of singles on Spotify starting in 2020 and each one of them shows a little bit of a different side to not only her artistry but her personality as well. I find this really fun and interesting because you can hear a bit of her evolution in the past 4 years just by listening to these tracks.
The production approaches are wild but really in the pocket. A little bit heavy-handed, and always bursting with color and edge which I think is the driving force behind how she does her thing musically.
This is indeed alt pop and each track that she puts out has a little bit of a different approach to it so I would suggest listening to the rest of us stuff after this one because if you like "Everybody Hates Me" then you're bound to like the rest of the releases as well.
This is a single that works as an amazing introduction to the artist, and I feel like it speaks volumes for her in terms of what she's released so far. You can hear where she's at production wise, songwriting-wise, and how she ranges her stuff so that it's accessible for just about everybody.
Once again, I thoroughly enjoy how she puts little pieces of herself in there so she's speaking truths but she's just doing it in her own way.
This was a killer track from an artist I'm definitely going to be paying a lot more attention to from here on out and if you're a fan of hard-hitting pop music with attitude and character, then this is 100% for you.
Take a listen to this track and the rest of her stuff and remember where you heard it first.
