A recent release from Meli Levi delivers a unique and beautiful breed of honesty as she unleashes a lot of inner thought to come spilling out for all to hear and does so with a passionate performance vocally that helps everything come through with an authentic backbone and some emotional drive.

The All Things May Be EP feels almost like chapters in the artist's life as she gets a bit descriptive during certain songs lyrically, painting pictures for you to absorb and soak in.

This is a soulful record. Even the guitars have a unique Twang and soul in their performances that emanate this kind of emotional feel and aesthetic.

These songs are almost like contemporary tracks with indie rock intertwined and blended with elements of jazz, blues, and more.

The first track, "Every Song I Sing", really introduces you to that honesty and how she can turn that into something that feels alive and breathing, catchy, and colorful but still with a touch of rawness to it that makes it genuine.

This is a track that features heavy-handed organs that drive the song and a certain direction. The chorus of the track is bright and impactful, so already you're getting an idea of what to expect from this record.

Other tracks like "Move With Me" give off great grooves and, again, that detailed lyrical approach that paints pictures and gets descriptive, so you really end up getting attached to the personality behind these songs quite quickly.

This record boasts a lot of that. Personality. It's got a lush and thick laid character for you to soak in, and the further into the record you go, the deeper into that character you get.

These songs have meaning and some layers to them, and the way they were performed was outstanding.

It's that energy level that grabs you. It feels almost like some of these songs, like "Move With Me" were recorded live in the moment. It puts you right there with the sentiment and feel of the track.

As the record unfolds, you get pulled into the atmosphere and it's one that you pay attention to because the stories and perspectives are understandable, relatable, and, again, detail.

Some of these songs are also incredibly danceable and colorful in their performances, with a vivacious and powerful approach vocally.

Meli also has a unique sort of vibrato when she sings that lets you know it's her. It's part of her staple sound, and I absolutely love that about it.

One of my favorite tracks on this record is its title and closing track, "All Things May Be".

The song is such an amazing closure to the record and is one of her best vocal performances, in my opinion. She lays out some amazing and beautiful descending melodies that just stick with you for hours after the song has ended.

I actually needed to satiate that by listening to this track again.

You get a cinematic and vaster underbelly when you listen to this track, and it's got a deepening feel that you end up soaking in in a particular way.

I love the aesthetic of this record and how it was created with fewer boundaries emotionally and lyrically than you may be used to.

You do have classic singer-songwriter and folk influence just beneath the surface of some of these tracks, and you can tell that Americana was an influence as well, but it's got its own approach.

Some of these songs could be played on a rock station, contemporary pop, or plenty more.

The performances, songwriting, and arrangements have a unique way of bending certain kinds of genres so that what the artist has created is something all its own to an extent.

Capturing some of the raw emotion and energy on record is one of the biggest attributes to why this sticks, and I strongly suggest listening to this one with headphones on because it's one of the best ways to soak in everything going on.

Take a deep dive into this album and into some of the chapters in the life of Meli Levi.
