The latest release from Hendrik Kreutzburg comes through with an array of smooth but visually enticing instrumentation and approach as it feels like a cross between what would be considered chill beats and classic jazz with such beautiful instrumentation and performances.
"Two Legged Echoes" is a bit of a genre-bender and I love that about it. The song features piano, trumpet, and a classic beat but also features ambient tonalities floating through the ether of the track itself. This is what helps build its cinematic backbone.
This is a lush single but really works as an amazing escape. It pulls you away from whatever you're doing and whatever you are and puts you in this other world for a little chunk of time.
This is the type of thing that feels good. It lets you forget about whatever is going on in your life and takes you away.
It also lets your visual imagination run wild. You may picture all kinds of things as you listen to this track because it sets a particular tone and that tone can feel slightly silent, but also somewhat warm and welcoming simultaneously.
This is a very unique style and approach, but it also feels familiar at the same time. This comes from the use of jazz music in chill beats, especially from the mid to late 90s.
You can hear these different influences coming through.
The piano is beautifully performed as is the trumpet. The trumpet feels a little muffled of course so that it adds that calm soothing sort of smoothness without feeling too harsh, and the beat adds that bit of drive.
This was definitely put together with some attention to detail, but it's got a sort of character which is part of what you end up grabbing on to.
For me, listening to this song lets memories pop into my head at random. I love it when music does that.
It's not often that you come by songs that trigger memories, or at least of time and I love how it made me feel.
You can float alongside this track or drift off into your own world. Either way again, that tone is set, and the song does an outstanding job of bringing a particular and beautiful aesthetic.
Upon listening to this track, I checked out their previous single called "Electric Fur" and that one was outstanding as well but in a completely different form.
It's really awesome to hear how different these two songs were but also how in-depth they can take you.
By listening to both of these tracks you can really hear an array of influences flooding in and that is something that impresses me.
You can tell that this is a passion project purely done for the love of the craft.
There's something that lets this music come through riddled with personality and how it lets you blend your own personality into it is outstanding.
I would definitely suggest listening to both of these tracks and doing so with headphones on so you can really soak in the vibes and aesthetic that they put out.
Take a swim through these tracks and remember where you heard it first.
