Gillsaw Drops a Cover of a Marilyn Manson Classic

If you're not too aware of the genre-bending and boundary-pushing sounds of Gillsaw then now is the time to find out more because a new release just came from the project and it's something that certainly takes some guts.

If you grew up in the 90s then you definitely know all about Marilyn Manson.

Manson was a groundbreaking artist who definitely paved the path for others and did what he wanted, how he wanted, and this was one of the many elements that made him a superstar.

One of the biggest songs Manson ever released and the one that really put him on the map was a track called" The Beautiful People". Again, if you grew up during that time you heard this song all over the place non-stop.

For someone to attempt to cover this track is a pretty heavy Endeavor.

But it's one that Gillsaw has taken on and in doing so, he was able to keep a lot of the essence of the original but twist it and turn it into his own formation. It's almost like he terraformed the song into an even grittier, edgier, and more scattered industrial approach.

As an artist, Gillsaw does his own thing. He is influenced by some heavier genres like metal and of course industrial, but he also blends in electronic and all kinds of outboard effects that breed a different animal.

His cover of this classic single is outrageous and nearly perfectly done because the arrangement and formation of everything are precise. He kept to the arrangements and aesthetic of the original which was obviously a big influence for him in terms of becoming a musician and writing music himself.

As you listen through this amazingly woven single, you realize that there was a lot of attention to detail that went into how it was built, and this is part of the beauty of it.

When you listen to the Gillsaw cover of "The Beautiful People", he realizes that it is actually a love letter and an ode to some of the most influential things that have affected him musically.

This track is very heavy-handed and showcases many of the staple sounds found in Gillsaw releases.

If you're a fan of the original track then this is certainly something you will want to hear.

It is definitely an industrial version and it's got a bit more haunt than the original which is saying a lot because the original track was pretty creepy.

Most certainly check this one out because it's a great way to introduce you to Gillsaw. Once you grasp this, you can check out his freshly released Fog Watch EP.

The music video for "The Beautiful People" is just below so hit play and turn it up.
