Freddy D Drops a Fresh Album

A fresh album release from Freddy D delivers a unique brand of honesty with vividly detailed lyrics that seem to display a rich character, and with each track, you get something a little new which is one of my favorite aspects about the record as a whole.

The Stealth 2 album lets Freddy's presence as an artist really come through heavily and as the record unfolds you get glimpses into who he is as a person, stories, situations, and brilliant lyrical phrasing throughout the entire thing.

It's been a while since I've heard a record of this caliber in this genre simply because Freddy puts out a lot of that character and personality throughout the entire release. With each track, you have slightly different approaches but throughout the record, there is a staple sound that you get as well.

This is one of those albums that you need to listen to from beginning to end simply because if you only listen to one or two tracks then you're not really getting the full spectrum of what the album has to offer as a whole.

There are layers here. It is super fun to peel these layers back and listen through to all the different situations, approaches, styles, and energies that the record gives off.

Part of the draw of this record is the production and how the beats are a little bit different from each other as well and that's what gives Freddy the ability to change up his rap styles per song so that you really get a feel for how he can morph characters and approaches from track to track.

I also love this incredible blend of old and new-school hip-hop styles that are put into this record.

There are times when his vocals are doubled, and he's got a certain kind of crispness to his flow that reminds me of classic hip-hop styles while other times tracks feel much more current and the blending of those two approaches really makes this thing hit hard and lets the record come through with surprises around its corners.

One of the other things that pulled me into this record is that honesty. Freddy is not really afraid to speak his mind, so in turn, you get a hip-hop record that has a lot of truth to it. He is really able to display and give little pieces of himself in certain tracks.

This is something you don't get all the time so when it comes along its pretty refreshing, and this record was definitely refreshing because it's not just a cookie-cutter hip-hop album.

A lot of these songs are a bit outside the box and some of them can be slightly experimental with the soundscape, but you can tell that Freddy's having a blast doing it all.

He's got a great energy and that's a huge element to the record's flow.

Listening to this record makes you realize that Freddie D would be a really great artist to see live in person because that energy is sort of infectious.

You can also tell that there was a lot of attention to detail during the creation of this album. But there was also a bit of heart that went into it as well. He puts his personality right there on the line for everyone to see and hear and I find that rejuvenating because we need more of that straightforward style in this genre.

None of this is really sugar-coated but instead, you get pieces of that personality consistently and there are loads of hooks that really hit hard and bounce around in your brain for hours after the songs have ended and the only way to satiate that is to go and listen to the record again.

His rap flows do vary, but again, carry a bit of a staple feel so when you hear a song that's from Freddy D, you know it's him.

He's got his own particular style, swagger, charisma, vigor, vibrancy, and approach that lets you know who you're listening to.

Whether you're into classic or fresh hip hop and rap, this is a record that you will dive right into and really get engulfed in.

The whole thing was refreshing and hit hard in all the right ways but was never super over the top. Instead, it was well-balanced dynamically and still lets Freddy do his thing and thrive throughout the album.

Again, I can't reiterate enough how you should be listening to this entire album from front to back.

The whole thing feels almost like a concept record where certain songs connect in different ways.

This came through with inventive rapping, lyrical phrasing and approaches, addictive hooks, and beats that were a little outside the box but kept things fresh while also giving slight nostalgic bouts at the same time.

An excellent record all the way through, definitely take a listen to Stealth 2.

Upon listening to this album, I took a bit of a deep dive into the back catalog of Freddy D, and I found a lot.

He's released albums and singles starting in 2013, as well as full-length records with a ton of songs, skits, and intros to many of these albums, and there's plenty more to soak in.

I found it fun to listen to his evolution as an artist from the beginning to now.

There are a ton of bangers and super memorable tracks, so you should definitely check all of those out after you listen to this one.

The last album release, Stealth, to which this record is a follow-up, is ridiculously good.

Check all of this stuff out and remember where you heard it first.
