Dahlia Dumont Delivers an Addictive and Unique Single

The latest release from Dahlia Dumont has a very unique breed of honesty delivered in the form of a rap riddled with character, personality, and a cultured overtone that reaches into such lush instrumentation and approaches that you end up getting wrapped up in the entire thing.

Dahlia wastes no time getting straight to the point and delivering something that is not only outside the box but gives off an animated and boisterous approach so that you get pulled straight into it right from the get-go and the changes throughout the track give this element of reggae and rap brought together by Colombian culture tonalities and so you get gorgeous breakdowns with accordion, live percussion, and so much more all rolled into this rap song that is completely high impact, and fierce.

"Semi-Automatic Trinket (Take It)" is an absolutely wild ride but also comes with a message and doesn't really take a genius to pick up on it.

The song has a theme that seems like a hot topic focused on the gun culture in the United States which is something that is politically pushy but also gives her the freedom to speak her mind.

The way she performed this track is not only right in your face, but it's excitable, electric, and addictive, and her lyrical phrasing is high speed and catchy so that you have a blend of color and edginess throughout the entire song and surprises around the corners in terms of the whole Cumbia element.

Not only does the song have so much flavor to it but it comes through in such a robust manner and so boisterously, that when it's over you have to go back and listen to it again because you know you missed some stuff.

I love songs like that because they hit like whiplash.

Dahlia does an outstanding job of letting her presence as an artist shine while speaking her mind and sticking with a push-button topic that people could stand on either side, and I feel like that's brave but also again, quite freeing at the same time.

I think true art lets you speak your mind no matter the outcome and that's really what's important here.

The track is danceable, fun, high energy and impactful, incredibly charismatic so you're getting a hard-hitting single that has so much going on that you can't wait to hear what's next.

As far as we can tell this is a bit of a glimpse into her upcoming Fantasia album. You can tell just from this track alone that it's going to be coated with a fierceness, and honest approach, it will speak truths and will not hold much back in the way of words or music and instruments.

This was so addictive to me. I haven't quite heard anything exactly like it before, so for me, this was super refreshing, and I feel like a lot of people will get exactly where she's coming from with it.

After hearing this one single track I am ready to expect the unexpected when it comes to Dahlia Dumont and her upcoming album.

As much as I can't wait for that, this track will certainly keep me at bay for a while.

The Brooklyn-based artist has already been making waves and really paving her own path musically and as an artist for quite some time and I feel like this track itself speaks volumes for her as an artist in terms of her inventive approaches, delivery, and intensities.

Upon listening to this track, I took a deep dive into her previous releases on Spotify, and it was more fun than I could possibly explain in words.

All of her releases up to this one show different sides of herself as a person and with her artistry. How she writes her music, and how she approaches it, and it all really kept me incredibly entertained.

Finding an artist like Dahlia is one in a million because not only can you be inspired by the kind of work she does because of how brave and intense it is, but she also really does an amazing job of evolving as she goes on.

Don't take it from me though. Definitely take a listen to this track and then swim through the rest of her catalog on Spotify and see how it works for you.

Remember where you heard it first.
