We are always pretty excited to hear a new release from Coldwards. The last releases from the band have been intense, memorable, and even epic at times. So, the expectations were high when I learned they released a new single. In true Coldwards fashion, all my expectations were exceeded.

The new track is called "Last of Me (Ft. Aaron Nordstrom)" and what I love about this song is its intense melodies vocally. It's just hook after hook of these memorable melody lines that flow like waterfalls into each other, and it lets the song have such an impactful sort of emotional balance and backbone that it affects you.

By the end of the track, you're just singing that chorus over and over in your head because of how memorable that hook actually is. The entire song has a massive drive and, once again, a cinematic kind of underbelly that showcases how these guys always create a bit of an emotional atmosphere for you to swim through.

The riffs are great. They're heavy and very progressive. The actual progression of the verses into the choruses is awesome and makes way for those vocals to lay their melodies down perfectly.

Coldwards is a band that knows how to write a song you can feel something from. An impactful approach to heavy rock songwriting that embraces not only the emotion but lyrical openness. This was an amazing approach to creating those layers within a single track, on top of having a catchy overtone that always blends personality with edge.

Because of the melodies and intensities of the song, it boasts a heavily cinematic feel for me. You can picture the song in a scene or the end credits of a film easily.

Again, I think it's because they bring that emotion and intensity into the song itself.

There's always this great, vast tonality to their songs, and this track is certainly no exception to that rule.

It feels progressive and expansive, so the whole thing really ends up surrounding you.

It's like a beautiful heaviness. Combining the elements of beautiful melodies with edgy, heavy tones is something these guys are excellent at and something that quickly becomes a staple in their songwriting.

This was a massive track and one you won't get out of your head for a long time. Just trust me on this one.

If you like this, then certainly check out "Sunflower", released late last year, and "Antidote" as well.

This band never lets you down and usually has some surprises to deliver. If you're used to their songs, then you'll go into this knowing it's going to be something sonically huge but melodically memorable.

So, check this track out first and then go back through some of their previous stuff because I can't express enough how these guys have more than a handful of amazing releases under their belt.

Coldwards is always a band to keep an eye out for.

Remember where you heard it first.
