A new single release from Charli Jade brings out a wonderfully lush and spirited approach to a country rock style, and what grabs you about the single right from the get-go, is the character and personality it boasts because you end up getting attached to that very quickly.
"Let Me Live" wastes no time delivering that high energy and warm presence and you can tell that this certainly came from someplace real, and that Charli has an absolute love for the craft of songwriting.
The song is indeed a country track as it's got that strong and sweet southern tonality to it, but it also packs a rock edge and quite a punch in terms of that energy and presence once again.
The guitar work on this track is amazing. There are sections where the guitars beckon classic rock tonalities with harmonies and a fully tight approach in terms of the band's timing.
Something about this song feels alive and breathing which is attributed, in part, to the energy level which is completely electric the entire time.
Once again, this is a very spirited song. It is uplifting, and powerful, and it speaks volumes for Charli as an artist because she's really speaking her mind and letting it all out.
Her vocal approach is outstanding as well because she uses herself in the background to create these harmonies and build the lusciousness and full-bodied element of the song so that it not only packs that punch and spirited approach, but it feels so robust at the same time, especially towards the end.
Once you get to that last chorus there's just a ton going on and it's got a lot of color, energy, a bit of edginess, and you can't turn away from that.
This felt like an honest track that came through super anthemic with this youthful cry-out and sort of fists-in-the-air sing-along approach.
The single is the latest release out of a handful that she's dropped over the past few years and after listening to this track I had to check out the others.
"Waiting On a Man" was released sometime last year and speaks also of her personality as she lets it all out in the best way she knows how.
Listening to this song especially also let me know that Charli is the type of artist who puts pieces of herself into her music.
Her songs are also very relatable to a lot of people so, not only can you feel something from them, but you also get where she's coming from.
These are some of the elements that build that character I mentioned earlier.
Her music has so much of her character and personality embedded in it that you feel like you know her better after listening to her songs.
Charli Jade has only just begun paving her own path musically and since she has started, it seems she blends genres to deliver songs that have impact but have fewer boundaries than you may be used to.
If you like one track, you will like the others and I'm looking forward to seeing what else she has to deliver.
I hope there's more to hear from her this year but until then, this handful of singles will be enough to tide me over.
Check out "Let Me Live" and her other singles released previously as soon as you can and see how they affect you.
Remember where you heard it first.
