A single release from Hunter Bragg brings out a cinematic rock engulfed and detailed track that builds in intensity and robustness as it plays on with bendy vocals and vast guitars creating a massive soundscape and a swirling and edgy undertone.
"Tomorrow Bound" is absolutely epic and boasts this driving rock feel that seems influenced by classic rock and ends up with more of an alternative rock approach but what really pushes the envelope with this single is that genuine and passionate style.
The song is performed and written with heart and its perfectly clear this came from someplace real. An experience that let him get wrapped up enough to write a song about it to get it off his chest.
Hunter may be an artist that needs this sort of thing. Maybe songwriting is cathartic for him. Too bad we don't all the ability to write songs about the things we live through.
Hunter gives his songs everything he's got and that love for his craft is evident with every note played.
He throws himself at the music and lets it take him away. This is part of why it's so addicting to begin with. You go on these little musical journeys with him and it's amazing.
With the release of such tastefully performed single, we wanted to have a chat with Hunter Bragg to find out where this song actually came from and what may be next for the artist as well.
Here's what happened.
Buzz Slayers: Let's kick things off with "Tomorrow Bound". This song has a bit of a cinematic and very honest feel to it. Where did this song come from?
This song came from Thinking about change mainly. I just saw how people were growing up and changing all the time . But alot of the times i felt the same , I Still have the same hopes and dreams i Had when i was a kid and i guess i try to hold onto the kid as much as i can . The lyrics reflect on change and how sometimes its better not to change. Its important to get in touch with your younger self.
Buzz Slayers: When did this all start for you? When did you fall in love with music?
It all started for me when i discovered the beatles pretty much. Just from the moment i heard them i fell in love with music. Ever since i heard them i knew what i wanted to do with my life . i remember From about 5 to 12 i thought that they were the only band that existed. They really opened the door for my love of music and then as i got older i heard bands and artists like nirvana and neil young and i realized "hey this isn't that hard i can do this myself " and ive been trying ever since.
Buzz Slayers: What inspires you to write a song?
Well inspiration comes from a lot of different things. Its never one set pattern or plan of action when it comes to songwriting. But usually the best ones come quickly ive found , When inspiration takes over you and it practically writes itself . But There's always a new way to approach a song wether that be with the lyrics or the style or the concept of the song or even how its recorded. Its different everytime really.
Buzz Slayers: This song has some great styles! Can you give us some of your top musical influences?
I've always said there's about 5 artist that changed my life musically and that
The beatles and john lennon
Daniel Johnston
Nirvana
Bob dylan
And bob marley
Those are pretty much the main people in my book.
Buzz Slayers: What are you doing when you're NOT working on music?
I Mostly watch spongebob or go on alot of hikes.
I try to watch good films and read the occasional book from time to time. But honestly outside of my music my life is pretty boring.
Buzz Slayers: Who's in your headphones right now?
I've been listening to Cut Worms a lot lately, im going to see him in concert in january. Also Some mac demarco, some john lennon , a little ryan paris. And chuck berry of course.
Buzz Slayers: Are you doing any live performances right now?
I'm not currently doing any live performances. I think i would like to release a few more albums and then try to gather together a band to play live. I enjoy playing live with a band more then without one. So, i think ill just wait until i can find the right people to go out and preform my material with. But until then ill just keep releasing stuff.
Buzz Slayers: This song feels like a big undertaking, is there any advice you'd give to other up and coming artists out there?
The best advice i can give to anybody is to just keep practicing and never give up. Release as much as you can and don't second guess if its good enough or not. I think the more an artist releases the better .
Im currently working on an album of older material i never got a chance to record. And ive already started that process. So that will be out soon enough and im excited to share it with everybody.
Buzz Slayers: Before we go, what would you like to say to fans of the music?
I would just like to say i hope you keep listening and stayed tuned for more.
