A fresh release from Deep in Moon brings out a fresh and crisp yet somewhat subtle pop-rock tonality that blends in elements of contemporary and utilizes jazz as a form of backbone to accompany lively and colorful vocals and time changes that surprise and delight.
"Made for Eternity" is a wonderful example of a songwriting approach that has its own formality to it. The track is alive and breathing from the get-go and the longer you listen to it the more it changes.
This is part of the addicting aspects of the single along with its vibrant energy and inventive character that you become drawn to quickly.
The track has this flow to it that kind of wraps itself around you and keeps you right where it wants to but then suddenly changes and brings on a much more disco-based rhythm.
You find yourself hooked on the way the song is built and how many sets of grooves there actually are throughout its course.
This was very danceable and incredibly fun, but it also had a way of boasting this sort of cinematic undertone at times. During those moments you pay a lot more attention to the lyrics and phrasing.
I fell right in love with those piano root notes and how the natural tone of the instrument really brought everything together from beginning to end.
It was definitely a pop-oriented single, but it's done in a contemporary way that blends different genres together at times which is quite creative and done in a way that shows a real love for the craft of songwriting in general.
It's definitely very easy to hit the repeat Button as soon as this song ends just so you can go back and catch everything again like a good movie.
It also has this little element of escapism at times which I really enjoyed.
Everything about this song had this wonderful polish and Sheen to it that made it feel open and breezy in a way but also refined and tight.
You can clearly tell that they had a lot of fun making this one and those bits of soul show here and there which also makes it attention-grabbing, to say the least.
With the release of such a wonderfully woven single, we wanted to have a chat with Deep in Moon to simply find out where the song actually came from and what might be coming up next for the band.
Here's what happened.
Buzz Slayers: Okay, let's start with " Made for Eternity"! This track has a driving and danceable feel with a bit of edginess as well! How did this song come about?
The song was created during the pandemic and essentially says that nothing lasts forever, especially secrets. Our singer came up with the idea and the lyrics for "Made for Eternity", and the song was created together in the rehearsal room.
Buzz Slayers: How did this all start for you as a band?
We played in a school band in 2018 and realized early on that we wanted to make more music together. Above all, performing live drove us forward.
Buzz Slayers: What kind of things really inspire songs for you?
In principle, a song can arise from any thought, any situation. Our music often tells of love and how it sometimes gets neglected in a fast-moving society.
Buzz Slayers: This single has some great styles on it! Can you give us some of your biggest influences musically?
Our musical influences for this project range from German band "Giant Rooks" to Australian musicians "Parcels".
Buzz Slayers: What are you doing when you're NOT working on music?
In addition to writing and recording music, we play a lot live, try to deliver content on Instagram and also do most of the management tasks ourselves. Oh, and actually we're all still studying.
Buzz Slayers: Who's in your headphones right now?
I can simply refer to our playlist "Good Vibe Sunday" on Spotify. There we regularly upload songs that we are currently listening to.
Buzz Slayers: Are you doing any live performances right now?
Yes! We play all over Germany from April to October. From festivals to headline shows, pretty much everything is included!
Buzz Slayers: Did you record yourself or hit a big studio for this?
We recorded the song together with an indie label in the studio in Rostock, DE. "Wooly Records" is our partner for the entire new EP.
Buzz Slayers: What can your fans expect from you in the near future?
It remains incredibly exciting! We'll be releasing the second single soon and besides a music video, the full EP and all the concerts this year, we also have a lot of new ideas in mind.
Buzz Slayers: Before we go, what would you like to say to fans of the music?
thank you very much for listening. We are happy about every member of the #deepinmoonfamily <3
