A brand spanking new single from a girl named jaen and Brian Ireland brings out a vast dance and house vibe with cinematic undertones and a
keen vocal attitude that becomes quickly alluring and has a way of grabbing at you and keeping you right where it wants you.
"Ready Set Let's Go" has a cool deepening effect that lets the music itself sort of swim around in the air that surrounds you.
This track has a wonderful way of engulfing you and it feels good to let it do that because this track is in its own right, a form of escapism. And songs like this although it would also be great as a club track or a song to work out or go running to, has that undertone of ambience and the whole thing lets you step into a different world for a little bit.
This is definitely a very driving track but again, it also has that openness and freeing feeling to it.
On top of that those vocals definitely stick to you and together with the music everything has kind of a futuristic effect to it.
This is actually really cool because dance and house music in general can go a few different directions of course, but when done right or when done in a certain way, it does let you come away with it.
And that's where that cinematic tonality fits in because between all the textures and sounds on the song you do still get this touch of escaping into a different world and that's part of the appeal the song like this.
Sure, you can dance all night to attract like this as well because it's got a great beat and a great brightness and edge to it, but it also has more layers than just that and it's kind of fun to let those layers be peeled back.
This is the kind of song that you really wouldn't mind playing on repeat for a while especially in certain situations but all in all it's a killer track that boasts just the right edginess and shines with just the right character to turn your head.
With this release we wanted to touch base with the artists involved to see where this track actually came from.
Here's what happened.
Buzz Slayers: Let's kick things off with "Ready Set Let's Go". This song bright pop dance feel and was vibrant and colorful! Where did this track come from?
I was watching an interview with an actor (I don’t recall who) & he was talking about that pull when you know a particular opportunity presents itself, in the moment & may not come again. It’s calling you too take action, to shake it up, but life’s always so full of responsible priorities and comfort in everyday repetition, so you hesitate. Do you let the opportunity pass or do you jump in? This idea sat unfinished for a month and then I got a brief for a licensing agent looking for a modern, house song. Once I got a solid idea for the phrasing, melody and theme, I knew my frequent collaborator and friend, Brian Ireland would be able to give the song the inspiring energy and edge it needed. We decided to craft a more Alternative Electro song as opposed to a classic house or Chicago house song. Buzz Slayers: When did this all start for you?
When did you fall in love with music? Since I was a lil kid. I come from a huge family and so I was surrounded with all kinds music from the 20s to present day. I started as a dancer and choreographer who sometimes sang and then later, I got into songwriting. Buzz Slayers: What inspires you to write a song?
Everything. It’s pretty constant. I eavesdrop on other people's conversations. I love interviews with successful people for material. Movies tv and other songs inspire. It could be as simple as a word I like the meaning or rhythm of, to a melody that comes to me on its own. Buzz Slayers: This record has some great styles! Can you give us some of your top musical influences?
Tough to narrow down but here are some: Bjork 21 pilots Muse Radiohead Massive attack Portishead Santigold Goldfrapp Duncan Shiek Missy Elliot System of a Down Incubus David Bowie The Ting Tings Prince Buzz Slayers: What are you doing when you're NOT working on music?
Photography Hiking, walking, cycling cooking, trying to learn new Vegan recipes. Spending time with family & friends board games. Road trips. Watching tv, with occasional binge watch. Buzz Slayers: Who's in your headphones right now?
1. Rosalia Are you doing any live performances right now? No, not since mid 2020. I’ve been in the studio a lot collaborating remotely. Buzz Slayers: What can your fans expect from you in the near future? I have an ethereal Love song out 2.14.23 called “I Love You I Do” & then another song out on St. Patrick’s Day called “Make Your Own Luck”. I’ve got some more singles planned for release throughout the year and a holiday EP. Buzz Slayers: Before we go, what would you like to say to fans of the music?
Thank you for listening and supporting us music makers. The more you support independent musicians, the more you’ll be rewarded with a vast variety of sounds and artistry.
