A fresh new EP release from All Regards comes through with a very impactful and emotionally backed sound that crosses over elements of pop punk, emo, and alternative rock but it brings those together into a massively anthemic tonality that leaves an impact.
The ALL OUR DREAMS TURN TO NIGHTMARES EP is about four tracks and spans around 15 minutes in length and throughout those 15 minutes you get a great feel for what this band is all about.
The guitar tones are very vast and melodic giving the record an almost cinematic undertone half of the time and there's something so powerful about how these tracks come across because of that tone.
All of these are very sonically driving and expansive, but the emotional backing comes from the lyrical content because it all feels so brutally honest, and this gives the record a heavy-handed personality which is something that you end up really loving by the end of it.
There's a sort of youthful cry out in this release and you can feel that sort of emotional rollercoaster as you listen to the tracks and the EP unfolds so while you do that, you start to relate to the songs a lot and you can feel the energy of each track as well because they're all very infectious in that way.
The elements of underground 90s alternative rock and pop punk come through very clearly and a lot of that has to do with both the guitar and the bass guitar tones but the drumming really pushes this record through.
These guys have an amazing way of feeding off of each other's energy as they do their thing.
The songs are alive and have an authenticity behind them that you get attached to, to the point where it feels like some of these songs could have served as part of the soundtrack from certain chapters in your own life. That's how relatable they are and how powerful they can actually come through.
These guys really love what they do and put a lot of heart into their performances which is why everything comes through with that great intensity and passion behind every note.
What makes the songs even more anthemic and massive is the vocalist. The vocals are just in your face. They are belting and don't hold anything back but while they do all that, they deliver these super memorable melodies and hooks that flood in, and this is all part of what lets you know these songs came from someplace real.
There's a lot going on between just these four songs alone and I feel like the EP in general speaks volumes for All Regards as a band because they're able to bring in influences that are classic, as I mentioned before, those 90s alternative rock and emo vibes, but they also bring in a newer feel that packs a little bit more of a punch and a higher level of intensity while remaining really crisp and tight in terms of the performance.
I definitely love how that emotional intensity level doesn't interfere with the tightness of the band's performance, and this makes you want to go see them play the record live right in your face.
There's something that speaks to you about this record. It's got this element of being beautifully damaged and I think that is thought-provoking and at times makes you feel like you may not be alone and normal life emotion.
These guys really crushed it with this record and each song gives you a little piece of the band and their personalities, influences, and energy.
An outstanding record from a band I'll be looking out for to see what they release next, most certainly dive into ALL OUR DREAMS TURN TO NIGHTMARES by All Regards.
This is a brand-new record released today, November 1st and the whole thing somehow just feels like a November record in a way.
It's got a little bit of that dark edginess to it that makes you think of the winter months.
Check this out and remember where you heard it first.
