One of the reasons a band like Dark Remedy stands out to me is the simple fact that they put out these sorts of intense and emotionally driven radio-friendly, heavy rock singles and they do it with such a seamless feel. It's like it's just what comes naturally to them but when you listen to the song, it's produced so incredibly well, and everything's performed with such a huge sonic presence but also that thick layer of emotion as well.
The latest track is certainly no exception and once again showcases how these guys put everything into what they're doing musically. The performances from every single aspect of this track push through and let it cry out with heavy-handed sentiment but also feel huge, anthemic, and powerful.
The track is called "Let Me Go" and the level of intensity that this puts out there is something you end up feeding off of. You can feel it in your bones when you listen to the track, it's so understandable or, relatable, that you feel at certain points like it was written just for you, especially if you're someone who's been in a similar situation or had that similar pull in emotion towards the pain of losing someone or something you love.
The chorus of this track is heavily powerful as I mentioned earlier. There's no better way to put it. It's got an impact and is performed with that vivid energy so you can really feel the emotion of this one in your chest.
It's also a heavy track. This is a deep-rooted alternative rock radio single, and it definitely hits with that punch that we know and love from this band.
The guitar tones are massive and give it that bountiful edginess just as the drums do. The drawing throughout this whole track. They're slamming and they have power behind them as well adding loads of that drive and bits of fierceness in there.
The way the vocals are performed is where a lot of that passion comes in. The singing has this heart and it's amazing how the entire band raises its intensity levels during those courses just as the vocals do.
I love the tone of the vocals as well. There's something about how the vocal tone blends in with those guitars and how they lend a hand to each other and create this soundscape that comes through is very unique.
The vocals are very lush in themselves. There are layers of tracks going on here, especially during the course, which is part of what makes them so impactful and big.
The entire approach to this track is very well executed. You have that memorable chorus and something about this song just gives me that feeling of hearing a big rock song on the radio and getting goosebumps the first time you heard it.
Then, you wait for it to come on again. Just like the old days. By the 4th or 5th time you heard the song, you were singing that chorus right along with the band.
That is the aesthetic I'm talking about. That is the feeling I get when I listen to this track.
Being able to combine the heaviness of the alternative rock sound with the heaviness of the emotional value that comes from the vocal performance and what it's about is really a beautiful thing to me.
It brings on whole different levels of intensity for me and I think it does for other people too.
The track was produced by legendary Billboard Top 40 producer Chris Dawson who is well known for working with some top names out there and he obviously got the vibe of the track perfectly.
Again, you can feel this one in your bones. You can feel this one in your chest, especially that first time.
I love hearing songs that you can tell came from someplace real. Some kind of life experience. This was pulled from somewhere within somebody and needed to come out.
Again, I'm not the most surprised right now because I am pretty familiar with the sounds of Dark Remedy, and I can certainly tell you that this is still an incredible step up for these guys.
Even though a lot of their other stuff has the same kind of intensities and the same kind of aesthetic, this track has something special about it and it feels vulnerable.
You have to love heavy alternative rock songs with vulnerability.
Something about those songs speak to us and this band has nailed it.
Check this one out and remember where you heard it first.
