Above Velvet Air

I’m Above Velvet Air, an independent artist crafting raw, emotionally driven indie-folk music. Many may know me as Zel Bautista, the frontman of December Avenue, one of the most-streamed OPM bands, but Above Velvet Air is my personal space to create without boundaries—where music is intimate, reflective, and free from expectations. With Above Velvet Air, I write, produce, and perform everything myself, ensuring that every note and lyric is deeply personal. My debut single, Close to Me, is a song about longing and distance, blending folk-inspired melodies with atmospheric textures. I also create my own visuals, including a lyric visualizer shot on my old Panasonic camcorder, featuring clips from Liverpool and London—adding to the nostalgic feel of the music.
