A Warm and Vintage Album from Main Street Revival

A new album release from Main Street Revival comes through with a very warm and nostalgic tonality as this vintage soul and classic rock soundscape comes rolling forward and as the record unfolds you get such beautiful and lush instrumentation from top to bottom that let the songs come through bountiful and excitable at certain times but all with this heart as well.

The Another Harvest Done album seems influenced by all of that and more. It's got not only wonderfully streamed together classic rock and soul, but it also has Americana, country, blues, and more, and it's all packed into this one record that all has the aesthetic of something that you've been listening to for decades.

There's something so incredibly welcoming about this record and you do end up paying a lot of attention to the lyrics as they tell stories and sometimes get into great detail and description, but you feel that soul in your bones because of the way things are performed.

The keys, organs, guitars, bass lines, percussion, vocals, everything is performed with such a unique passion to the point where it almost feels like these songs could have been recorded alive on the floor to an extent so that all the players involved could feed off of each other's energies the entire time giving the songs this sort of alive and breathing feel.

Now, I wasn't there so of course I could be incorrect about the whole live on the floor aspect but when you listen to the record, and you hear the kind of energy that's captured, it just gives you that same vibe. Listening to the record makes you want to go see them live.

I don't know about you but for me, it's been a while it made me want to go catch this band perform everything I heard right in front of my face.

The entire ensemble is electric energy wise, and you can hear these classic and vintage influences and tonality is coming through in just about every track on this thing.

It's a gorgeous record and again, listening to it certainly gives me bouts of nostalgia here and there as I grew up listening to a lot of classic rock, soul rock and stuff like that. This is also nostalgic for me because it is a really robust record with a lot going on.

When I was a kid, I grew up during a time when you would hear a song on the radio, go to the record store, pick up the record whether it was a vinyl, CD, cassette tape, or whatever, and you would go home and listen to that whole album even though you'd only heard the one song.

When you listened to that album it became an experience and opened you up to so much more and that's what this record does for me as well. It gives me that same feeling as I did when I was a kid listening to a vinyl record.

Sorry. I went a little deep in there. The point is, these guys captured such a wonderful aesthetic, and it seems like they did it effortlessly like everything was just completely natural. The record does boast a very forward moving flow, and everyone seems to bounce off of each other beautifully.

I hear little elements of blues, little elements of jazz, but it's very alive and has a wonderful way of pulling you right in.

This is one of those albums that you need to listen to from beginning to end. Listening to one or two tracks will give you a little bit of a gist of what you may expect but it will not give you the full range of the album.

Some tracks have that classic '70s wah-wah kind of chorus effect on the guitars, the percussion is outstanding, and I think that drumming is one of the things that make me think of that jazz element in there too. Outstanding drummer.

The drummer really does an amazing job of pushing the envelope and letting the songs breathe as I mentioned earlier. The percussion is something that really gives the songs waves of intensity.

The choruses and even some verses also scream 70s rock in it works perfectly. A lot of these hooks are super memorable and stick with you for hours after the songs have ended.

Another thing that I really adored about this record is that the guitar work on it does also boast hooks.

Musical hooks or something that I've missed in a lot of different kinds of rock music for a long time and I love that there are instrumental hooks strewn across this record.

This was an outstanding achievement and speaks volumes for Main Street Revival as a band and on that note, I have to say now that I've heard this record, that choice of a band name is 100% perfect.

Check this record out for yourself and again, listen to the whole album if you can. It's totally worth it and it's only about a half an hour long.

Remember where you heard it first.
