A Vintage Punk Rock Banger from The Dissentors

A single release from The Dissentors hits a classic and vintage punk rock approach and the aesthetic is nailed from beginning to end including this unstoppable and thrashing energy and the character that comes along with it which is extremely important when it comes to punk rock music.

"Get LOUD or Lose Your Voice" is the type of title that should explain it all. You can hear the influx of influences from different eras and genres of punk music infused throughout this one song alone and it gives me the warm fuzzies to be honest simply because I grew up listening to a lot of punk rock as a kid.

The way this track was recorded captures the essence of vintage punk rock and that itself, gives off an almost live performance style approach.

Perhaps this track, and others that they released, was recorded live on the floor so they could capture that kind of energy and that kind of essence. Or maybe it wasn't. Either way listening to this track makes you want to go see them perform it live.

The guitar tone, the way the drums were recorded, that thick underlying base, and the robust and bountiful, gritty, and super fun vocal approach all come together and let this song hit like a sucker punch to the gut.

The song is rambunctious but a damn good time. A fists-in-the-air singalong that you can jump around the living room to, headbang with, or just pump as loud as you can.

I love hearing bands like this because it really lets you remember how important punk music was across the span of music history as a whole.

A lot of people don't really think about that but when I was young, I listened to Minor Threat, Black Flag, along with plenty of others, and then, as I got older, it leaned more towards Pennywise, Misfits, and more.

As someone who listened to loads of punk and let it become an addiction, I can tell you right now that this single alone speaks volumes for The Dissentors and how they're releasing music that's like a love letter to the bands that influence them.

Everyone in the band is completely all in. Each member feels like they're feeding off the others energy-wise.

This gives the whole track an incredible electric energy that hits hard but still comes through with this great classic punk catchiness that makes you want more and more. The song is totally infectious.

This band is known to be a little bit of a politically driven punk Fireball if you will, and I love this because that's what a lot of punk has always been about. A lot of punk has always been very politically based.

The guys are also known to play plenty of live shows which is a key to the genre as well and upon listening to this track alone, I took a little bit of a deep dive into their back catalog and I'm glad I did because I found a couple of eps including a live one that really crush.

The Dissentors our destructive and all the best ways possible and live on as an Ode to Vintage punk rock which is something that I absolutely adore.

Every release they put out is more than worth your time and if you are a punk rock fan then you might also want to listen to their cover of "Scavenger Type" originally by the legendary NOFX.

Real punk fans will definitely love that one. But they'll love everything these guys put out honestly.

Check this track out and also some of the other releases on their Spotify and see if you can catch them for a live show because listening to this record lets you know that the live performances are probably just face-melting.

These guys are endlessly fun and I for one I'm going to be paying a lot more attention to them from here on out.

Thank you, guys, for putting out genuine, classic, driving punk rock again.

Listen to this loud and remember where you heard it first.
