The latest releases from Scott Clay steps a bit outside the norm for the artist as the track delivers a wonderfully approached alternative and dream pop soundscape.
Scott Clay is most known for his influences with classic rock, Americana, folk, and a little bit of that homeland folk rock as well but has recently decided to release a set of remixes from a track that was previously on a record of his called Jade.
Jade is an album that comes through robustly with a lot of personal tonalities and approaches, warm feeling songs, acoustic guitars, some electric overlays, and emotionally driven topics and vocals that give you a sense of authenticity right from the start.
One of my favorite tracks in the record is called "Aurora" and this is the song that has been remixed with this new release.
The "Aurora (Jabrbeats X Vermillion Remix) is something of a totally different world.
This song shines with a different pattern of textures, a ray of layers, and an atmosphere you can get washed away with.
The personal attributes of the song stand strong, but the remix musically comes through differently so that you have a completely fresh approach to something that I feel is a classic track from a classic record.
Intense baselines, drawn out and floaty synth pads, a little extra edginess, and this pop undertone that lets you sort of drift alongside the track and really pay attention to not only the lyrics but the aesthetic and vibes that everything gives off.
This was an absolutely gorgeous single and a unique approach to this track and to remixing. This is more than just taking what was given and adding a beat to it. They were elements that were completely re-recorded like the bass line for example.
The music video that accompanies the single is below and above, of course is our video interview with Scott Clay where we get into his influences, performances, what's coming up next for him, and tons more.
Enjoy the video interview with Scott above and then most certainly watch the video for the Aurora remix below.
