A Video Interview with Katy Tunbridge

The latest album release from Katy Tunbridge comes through with a vivacious energy that is not only quickly addicting but also bears a lot of honesty so throughout the record you get the feeling that each song you're listening to serves as a chapter in the artist's life in some way shape or form.

This is an album that has layers to it and it's incredibly fun to peel them back as Katy lays down such energetic and vibrant vocals but also with a little bit of raw and emotional vulnerability to them as well which is something that you don't get often.

That combination of emotional drive and colorful pop overtone is something that definitely lets this record leave its mark and believe me when I tell you, there are more than a few surprises around the corners here.

The Skin Deep album can get quite descriptive lyrically and it's a big part of what gets you pulled into a lot of the songs. The way she is detailed with those inner thoughts coming out, and how she describes things unless you paint a picture in your head.

Of course, the music helps as well with songs that range from singer songwriter, Americana, pop rock, contemporary pop, and more all just rolled into one record, you get such a full-bodied and lush soundscape that it feels like an escape for a good little chunk of time.

It's that Honesty that really grabs you. It lets the record feel so authentic and you do know that a lot of these songs came from someplace real.

Because of this there are tracks that become super relatable and even though they may have been cathartic for Katy, whoever is listening to it may also get that feeling of attachment to them.

This is a very eclectic record and again, it brings elements of all different kinds of styles, songwriting approaches, and even genres together on one record and there's a lot of parts throughout its unfolding that stick with you.

She is an artist that certainly knows how to write a good hook and chorus and those are the parts that usually just bounce around in your head for hours after the song has ended.

This is the kind of album you listen to from beginning to end because if you only listen to one or two tracks, then you will get nowhere near the full spectrum of what the album has to offer as a whole.

This is important because it brings us back to the time when records had a deeper meaning and became more of an experience when you listen to them.

Katy is more than able to create that experience for the listener and with such a wonderfully honest, vivacious, and emotionally open record, we definitely wanted to have a sit-down with the artist to find out where it all came from and what might be happening next.

It turns out, there's a lot happening with Katy these days and we were able to catch her for a video interview to find out about all of it.
