A Video Interview with Elisabeth Hoffman

A new EP release from Elisabeth Hoffman gives off a wonderfully lush songwriting approach that comes through differently with each track on the record but throughout it all you get a gist of the character that's delivered and that's something that you end up getting attached to as the release unfolds.

The Quo Vadis EP is riddled with gorgeous instrumentation and slightly experimental approaches to layering, bringing different textures into the mix, and putting forth a unique breed of honesty that adds to that character and personality it boasts from the get-go.

One of my favorite aspects about this release is the vast undertones that some of this stuff delivers along with a lot of classic rock-inspired and influenced styles, amazing guitar work, and just a songwriting and composition feel that creates this atmosphere you end up falling right into.

This was a gorgeous record from beginning to end and speaks volumes for Hoffman as a songwriter especially.

These tracks have unique instrumentation all completely natural, full-bodied, colorful, expansive, and slightly edgy all at once.

Some tracks feel like you're floating along through a dream with her and others touch on Americana styles so throughout this record which, by the way, is only three songs, you get a lot of different genre-bending approaches but when you put them all together you get a great experience throughout this EP. You can tell there was a lot of attention to detail during the creation of this record, but it never loses this sort of personality or heart that it starts with, and this may be the most important aspect of the entire thing.

Hoffman performs pretty much every instrument on the record aside from the drums. Everything performed on this record is super well done and you can tell that the artist has an absolute love for her craft.

When I say that I mean the craft of songwriting. Not just playing these instruments or singing. She loves songwriting which you can hear with every note on this record.

Having said that, it's pretty impressive how she's able to put all these together and create a song with them. Upon listening to the record, we really wanted to find out how that process happened.

We wanted to know how someone has an idea for a track and then brings it to fruition almost completely on their own.

Especially a record of this much depth, beautiful layers, and thick atmosphere.

So, we had a video interview with her about how her songwriting process works, her influences, other creative outlets, new music that's being released next, and so much more.

Take a look at our interview with the artist and absolutely listen to the Quo Vadis EP.
