A Massive Rock Record Release from Crones

A new album release from Crones hits with a righteous blend of pop rock, alternative, and indie rock that also breeds a little bit of a classic '90s grunge undertone at times and an incredibly lively approach that all comes together to pack a welcoming sort of punch that blends color and edginess perfectly.

The human error album is indeed a heavy and fun rock record but it's not over the top heavy. It's not full-on grunge, or even full-on alternative rock. It's got hints and elements of heavy aspects here and there but really this is an addictive and catchy pop-rock record that showcases a little extra Edge.

I associate this record with garage rock a lot because of the way the guitar tones are and how the riffs are played but it does give me that nostalgic feeling a lot of the time as well having grown up listening to a lot of that '90s underground rock also.

There's a certain sort of quirkiness about this record and it makes everything feel a little bit loose, in a good way. It's sort of freeing and makes you think of bands like The Toadies for example.

What really hits the most about this record for me most of the time, is this sort of live performance underbelly in the energy of these songs.

It's almost as if some of these tracks were recorded live so the players can feed off of each other the entire time and give off this robust sort of electric energy.

Even if I'm wrong about the whole recording and live thing, listening to this release makes you want to go see the band live because of how everything is captured on the record.

The guitar work is fun and bright, the vocals make me think of classic rock-style vocals a lot of the time because they're very melodic and robust, and the drumming is perfect for the aesthetic of the band because it pushes the songs exactly to where they need to be.

The dynamic balance and sort of sonic drive of this record is pinpointed and because of that it gives off this aesthetic and for me, again, a lot of the time that aesthetic can feel a little bit nostalgic.

Now, these guys are certainly not afraid to sound a little dirty, a little grungy, and come through with a killer rock swagger and attitude and that's something that builds on the atmosphere of the record perfectly.

You can tell this comes from a band that definitely has a real love for their craft. When I say that I don't just mean singing or playing instruments, I mean writing songs together to put out there.

Sometimes I listen to a few of these songs on the record and I feel like they're odes to the bands that influence them growing up.

I dig this because although you can hear a ton of those influences in different songs throughout the record strewn about, they still bring their own twist, and that twist makes the record a little bit outside the box.

There are some surprises around the corners and these songs can go anywhere from making you want to jump around the room to singing along with your fists in the air.

Another thing I loved about this is the simple fact that it's an actual full-length album. I grew up in a time where you'd hear a song on the radio and go and buy the record because you wanted to hear that song over and over but, when you got the record, you ended up experiencing a lot more.

This release makes me feel a lot like that.

It's a bit more of an experience and it is very satisfying in the end.

You can't help but get addicted to this pure rock energy and the slew of influences that helped build it.

A massive new record from Crones with a lot going on, a lot of layers that can be peeled back, a charismatic and vibrant attitude, and a perfect energy to grab your attention and keep you right where they want to.

Check this record out, don't be afraid to turn it up, and remember where you heard it first.
