An absolutely massive new EP release from When Forever Finds Me crosses over and blends a multitude of heavy and vast genres with incredible soundscapes that blend cinematic and expansive tonalities with brutal and heavy guitar crunching, blistering vocals, and pounding drums.
One of the things I love most about the Wildflowers EP is that it comes through with such a huge atmosphere and the heavy sections are all fierce and have a fire behind them clearly as they blend that thrash, melodic, little bits of death, and even grindcore metal elements together to create something that packs a hell of a punch but, underneath a lot of that is that vastness created by synthesizers
The synths and keys are a really important element to this record because those are the elements that really build that cinematic undertone that makes everything feel like it's got these incredible layers to it.
This is a record that has crazy screaming vocals that are really perfectly done so that it's got a massive energy and edginess to it but it also has powerful hooks that come through anthemic and those are sung rather than screamed a lot of the time so, you have this combination of the deepening and earth rumbling metal with shrieking and guttural vocals that scream but then you also have the melodic and intense belting vocal wise and I think all of that comes together super well and seamlessly.
Again, these guys are really managing to combine a ton of heavy elements and genres, and they do this super well and most likely due to some of these band members bringing in different influences to the table but together, they're able to pull off a record that pulls you into that atmosphere and doesn't really let you go.
I also love that almost orchestral metal approach as well. It feels very theatrical to me and that is something that makes the record have these waves of intensity.
The guitar tone alone is ridiculous. There's such an incredible Sonic drive to this entire record but again, the riffs themselves are ridiculous and come through with that deepening feel probably because they're either drop B or drop C possibly in terms of the tuning of those guitars.
Either way they really pull this off well and it has a sharpness to it, but it also has that super deep low end, so it really comes through thick but also cutting at the same time.
This is the kind of record that you listen to from beginning to end because you want to hear the whole thing, and it almost even feels like it's a concept record of sorts.
The songs have these stories that they tell in a way, and they seem interconnective indifferent aspects but even if it's not for the fact that this could be a concept record, you should be listening to the whole thing because that way you get the full range of what it has to offer as a release.
One or two tracks won't give you the full vibe of the record. So again, I definitely urge you to listen to this thing from beginning to end because it's totally worth it especially if you love metal of any kind.
One of the other things that hit me really well with this release is the sheer fact that they have this unbelievable energy throughout its entire course.
It almost feels like some of these tracks were recorded live on the floor to an extent and these guys were just feeding off of each other's energies the entire time.
Even if I'm incorrect about that aspect. Even if it was not recorded live, it still makes you want to go see them perform it live in your face.
If this kind of energy is captured on record this well then seeing them live must be a face-melter.
I love listening to an album from a band and knowing they're just going to destroy you live.
These guys definitely bring together a slew of metal influences and do it in an incredibly seamless fashion and on top of that you can tell there's a lot of heart and love for their craft involved.
The record is super tight but also super inventive.
Absolutely listen to this record as soon as you can and do it loud.
Remember where you heard it first.
