A Lush New Album from James Leclaire

A new album release from James Leclaire brings out a refreshing approach on several genres being blended together and performed with this massive heart which gives a lot of the songs an honest and character-riddled tonality, and this is one of the biggest things that you end up getting attached to right from the start.

The Come On In album definitely shows a lot of sides of James as a songwriter and as an artist as well as the music brings in elements of classic rock, alternative country, classic country, and so much more all just rolled into one massive record but what grabs you is that each track has a way of feeling like it serves as a chapter in James's life making the whole album seem almost like a concept album.

Some songs bear a more stripped down and acoustic, southern undertone approach, while others rock hard, full-bodied, and electric energy but either way, you're getting a little piece of James with just about each track here.

This to me is a bit of a gift because it gives you insight and lets you understand that these songs, for the most part, came from someplace very real which lets the record feel super authentic and connective for the listener.

Throughout the record, he tackles different kinds of inner thought and a little bit of struggle, a little heartbreak, and more but this all adds to the realness and gives him that human touch that lets you fall into this record so easily.

This is the kind of album that you want to be genuine, and it certainly is from beginning to end but it's done with surprises around the corners, and although a lot of people don't like to talk about things like the mix of a song, I have to hear because the mix of these songs is outstanding.

There are no two songs on this record that are identical or to alike if you will, but the record is broken up into certain kinds of genres that stand out more with different songs and sometimes you have incredible guitar work, sometimes you have vocals that take you different places, but with every song on the record you get pulled into it a little bit more and that's because the deeper into the album you go, the more of an atmosphere it builds around you so listening to the full album from beginning to end is an absolute must with this particular record.

Listening to one or two songs from this album will give you nowhere near the spectrum of what it actually has to offer.

This is not just for country music fans. This is for people that like music that came from someplace real. Music that can make you think or make you feel. Music that's about real-life struggles and real-life thoughts that we have but don't all know how to express or articulate the way an artist like this does.

All of these attributes are important in the world and that's why music like this is important in the world.

This album is incredibly connective, and it's been quite some time since I've heard a full album like this that pulled me away from my surroundings and put me into someone else's world for a good chunk of time.

The vocals are passionately performed, the whole band and only instruments are played with heart and a pure love for the craft, and the way the energy is on some of these songs makes you feel like they were recorded live on the floor and all the players were just feeding off of each other the whole time.

An outstanding record that was helmed by someone who really needed to get these songs out of his head and into the world.
