A Killer EP Release from Easy On

Writer: BuzzSlayersBuzzSlayers

A new EP release from Easy On gives off a prime blend of alternative, Indie, and classic hard rock and does so with a massive energy level that becomes so infectious you can't turn away.

The Come Persona EP starts hitting hard right off the bat with its first and title track giving off real classic rock vibes but with a heavy edginess to it.

The riff is outstanding here and the track is an amazing job of setting the stage for what you might expect to hear for the rest of the EP however, listening to just one or two tracks won't give you the full spectrum of what the full release has to offer so I suggest listening to the whole thing in one shot.

There are definitely more than a few surprises around the corners and loads of catchiness because these songs hit hard but also have a pop coating to them that become quickly addictive, giving you tons of musical and vocal hooks in the true style of hard and classic rock.

The classic hard rock element comes from the guitar tones and some of the rest. You also get elements of grunge and heavier rock involved, of course but the songwriting and the approach, some of the arrangements, and vocals can reach into that classic rock aesthetic often.

The track that follows it is called "Frozen" and this is a song that has a bit of depth to it and feels kind of cinematic because there's a vastness in its undertone that has a lot to do with these keys that float around through the ether of the song giving it a spaciousness.

There's also a bit more emotion involved with this track which I really liked, and that chorus was pretty anthemic to say the least.

This is one of the songs where you really feel the heavy-handed drumming. The drums do an amazing job of pushing this record and giving it the drive that it needs to hit the soundscape it was aiming for.

A lot of this record feels like it was recorded live on the floor, to an extent. Maybe some overdubs were done later on. It feels like everyone involved was feeding off of each other's energy the entire time, which gives this record a whole different vibe.

It's sort of, alive and breathing in its own right and even if I'm wrong about the whole live-on-the-floor thing, listening to this record makes you want to go see the band perform it live in your face because if this kind of energy and a static is captured so well here, then seeing them alive must be awesome.

This is an EP that speaks volumes for the band as it shows charisma, personality, massive heavy rock influence from all different places, a well-placed pop underbelly, and outstanding riffs and energy.

Some of the guitar work across this EP is completely outstanding. Certain tracks give off harmonized sections and riffs as main chunks of the song's rhythm section, which I found to be inventive and added a lot of color to the edginess of the music.

The track I'm speaking of is called"(So) Unlikely Mine", which is actually the closing track of the record.

The vocals are intense when they want to be and melodic when they need to be. You also get that live energy from the vocal performance, and it all delivers this sort of high-octane and unique experience.

Again, I can't express enough how you should be listening to this record from beginning to end because there are definitely some unexpected moments and it's the best way to soak it in.

Each of these songs actually stands on the wrong two feet very well as singles but the EP gives you a great experience if listened to in full.

Take a deep dive into this EP when you get a chance and turn it up because that's the way it was meant to be heard.

Remember where you heard it first.
