The latest release from Dark Remedy hits hard and anthemic in the form of somewhat of a love song but also with the soundscape of a massive alternative rock single and I feel like it's that sort of upfront honesty that really hits hardest about this track because the way the lyrics are laid out really lets people relate to it.
"Killing Me" is the track that displays the intensities of love and also of heartbreak in a way because the beauty of a song like this is that it has a heaviness to it. It is alternative rock with slamming drums, kicks that cut through everything and add that rumbling heaviness to the track, the guitar distortion is heavy and sonically huge, and the vocals are belting out there with a little bit of added edginess bringing that push.
The lyrics are so personal throughout all of this.
There's a lot getting let out in terms of those inner thoughts and emotional drives, but this is part of the genuine approach of this track and why it makes so much sense that it's this intense.
It's all real. When you listen to the song, if you've experienced anything similar, that strong feeling, the heartbreak, then you will understand it completely.
This is the kind of song that means a lot to people that have been through or are going through the same thing because it lets them feel like they're not alone to an extent.
I think it takes music like this to help unleash that emotion in a certain facet and it's bands like Dark Remedy that are able to pull off that emotional spirit with such an authentic approach but still with a catchy and again, very anthemic style chorus that beckons arena alternative rock bangers.
That's the thing. This track is super memorable. That course is indeed huge and very hooky, but it also has the emotion and honesty to it, so you have the two best elements of a really heavy rock chorus brought right to your face during this track and that's why it sticks in your brain.
I love the feeling that this track gives me simply because I like music that lets you feel something. It's not just the music but also the sentiment of the song that ends up getting under your skin.
This track has a very full-bodied and hard-hitting soundscape that is indeed quite heavy but doesn't hit a heavy metal approach really. It sticks to that alternative rock feel, but it is very edgy, and it does have that kind of dark underbelly of it which is part of the staple of the band's feel and sound in general.
But again, this is a catchy song. So, these are guys that know how to write a song that is very radio friendly. I could easily hear the song on any major rock radio station in any major city.
They really nailed the approach and aesthetic that they were going for with this one and you can certainly drive in your car and sing along to the chorus of this by the second time around. Hell, even the first time you listen to it by the second chorus you might be singing along with it.
This was a total banger that displayed emotional backbone, honesty, plenty of character, and hit heavy and hard the way it was meant to so the message and intensity really got through.
Most certainly check this song out affects you and while you're at it, you should certainly check out some of their previous releases because they have at least a handful starting two last year on their Spotify and all the songs show a little bit of a different side to their songwriting but also how hard they can hit and how all of their music really has a bit of a depth to it.
Dive into this and remember where you heard it first.
