A Heartfelt Single from Upwood Avenue

A new single release from Upwood Avenue is a warm love song of sorts, and its honesty is really what grabs you.

The track hits such a welcoming tonality and you can actually feel that emotional drive behind the song throughout its course as it is delivered with such a thick classic rock influence and is riddled with personality and character to the point where you can really relate to the song itself.

"The One Good Thing" is indeed the type of track that you hold on to simply because if you are someone who has a special person in your life that you want to hold on to just as much, then you will understand exactly where the song is coming from.

One of the things I love about songs like this is simply the fact that you feel these things during different times of your life but don't exactly know how to articulate that into words, let alone words and music. That's why singles like this one have an impact.

The ability to express those feelings and inner thoughts so well in such a relatable tone is a beautiful thing because I think we all need to hear it.

Again, this track is a cross between a little bit of folk-style rock and a classic rock influence, especially with a slide guitar section that comes in as a hook with the vocal chorus. This is also something that I love about classic rock music in general.

Musical hooks or something that has gone the way of the dodo in recent years. I certainly miss those guitar hooks and songs that stick in your brain just as well as the actual vocal parts do.

This song is a perfect example of exactly that.

That slide guitar hook comes in right with that chorus and becomes an integral part of the song and again, a melody and tone that sticks with you after the song has ended.

When I sing the chorus in my head, I hum the guitar part along with it.

The vocal performance is also very warm and heartfelt, and you can tell it certainly comes from someplace real. This was clearly a love letter to somebody special and I find that it brings out certain emotions for whoever is listening to it as well.

The best part about the whole thing is that you can relate this track to a lot of different kinds of relationships. It doesn't have to be a significant other or a partner specifically. It can be a daughter or a son. Anyone that you love who makes your world a better place.

This is the kind of sentiment this track delivers. It's one you want to just wrap your arms around and hold on to.

In a way you sort of wish you wrote it for your person. That's how beautiful it is.

The guitar work across the board is outstanding, and the vocals are very expressive and come through with that perfect level of emotional balance and significance.

But the whole band really puts in the right kind of soul and heart so that the song hits the right aesthetic and never loses the personality or emotional backing that it starts with.

We are not exactly strangers to the ways of Upwood Avenue. We have been lucky enough to have reviewed some of their previous material and I can tell you that there's always something different to grab onto with their songs. This track, however, sort of takes the cake for me because of its warmth.

Being able to let so much inner thought spill out this way and do it with a great level of passion to boot, is not an easy thing. You can tell that the song was driven to come into the world.

That drive came from real feelings and emotions that needed to be expressed, and this is what true art is all about. Any form of art.

Being able to express those kinds of emotions and feelings with no walls built around you. Again, this track is an example of exactly that.

If you love slightly southern-toned classic rock songs, this is definitely for you.

If you love songs that make you think or feel something, this is also for you.

There's something here for everyone I feel.

Check this track out and see how it affects you because I'm sure it will.

Remember where you heard this first.
