A new single release from Missy Balsam comes through with such a cultural fusion and spiritual push all wrapped up in a brilliantly arranged and formatted dance-pop style single that feels like it was birthed in the 90s somewhere and throughout it all you end up getting wrapped up in the atmosphere that it delivers which is thick and full-bodied.
"Aham Prema (I Am Divine Love)" is a brilliant track that serves almost like a chant. The vocals are done in a call-back style where you have a group that speaks and sings and another group that calls back so, these two vocal sections bounce off of each other and this helps create part of the rhythm for the song which is amazing.
It has been quite a long time since I've heard a song that felt so spiritually rich and gave off this danceable rhythm but vast undertone so that you can really get into the track and sing along. You could also dance to it if you want to or just feel the kind of power that it delivers which is heavy-handed by the way.
This, to me, is a spirit lifter. It has such a robust approach and creates an expansive feel soundscape-wise so that you really can feel the flow of the song and how it swims around in the air that surrounds you.
I really love a track that can wrap itself around you and keep you right where it wants to, and this is a perfect example of exactly that because there are so many beautiful layers of texture going on throughout the song that you end up becoming almost addicted to it.
This song serves almost as an escape to me. It pulls you away from wherever you are and whatever you're doing and puts you in this other place for a little while and that to me is a gift in music as a whole.
This is an easy track to follow but feels like there's a lot going on because of all the textures and layers happening but, it also feels good at the same time.
You come out of this song feeling good and that almost has a sense of freedom to it in a way. The song is sort of freeing.
This was warm, vibrant, colorful, charismatic, and welcoming in its own way and it felt cinematic to me, and I feel like this is because not only does it have that vast underbelly, but it also has a sort of personality and character attached to it that you end up liking.
It's strange how music like this can make you feel connected to it. It does though. It has a way of making you feel like you're a part of the music itself and your body starts to move to it, you start to feel some emotion from it, and you start to think.
I feel like we need any kind of music in the world that makes you think or feel.
These kinds of songs are important because they're outside the box, they're not cookie-cutter, and they give that extra push emotionally and spiritually so that you can become attached and feel invigorated in a way.
A good word for this song would actually be, invigorating.
The sense of personal tonality that you get from this is like a hug from a loved one.
You can tell that there was a lot of attention to detail during the creation of the song, but you can also tell it never loses that heart or that personality it starts with in the first place and that is incredibly important here.
Throughout its course, you have organs and spacious synth pads that float through the ether of the song and give it that drifting and dreamy appeal.
All of this comes together and was deliberately built so that you can be a part of everything that is happening soundscape-wise.
I certainly feel like this is a song that everyone should be listening to with headphones on because then you can soak in all of those layers and all of those textures that I mentioned earlier.
This track fills you up. It fills you up with something good and when it's done you might feel as rejuvenated as I did.
Check this track out now and remember where you heard it first.
