A Fuzztone Rock Trip from Fluid Druid

A brand-new release from a Fluid Druid delivers a soiree of rock soundscape with vast undertones bringing together elements of grunge, psych-rock, experimental, indie, and Stoner rock all in one fat single, and it feels great to listen to this one loud because it's colorful but edgy at the same time.

"If You Only Knew" does an outstanding job of bringing all these elements and textures to the table, making it sound totally natural and seamless.

There are even surf-rock-feeling elements due to some organ and key solos towards the end of the track, but there are also some crazy synth sounds that float in and out of the song, giving it that trippy tonality.

It is indeed experimental, but it is very structured and feels vibrant, colorful, and robust.

You get some great fuzz tone aesthetic, and there's a vocal melody that kind of sticks with you and adds these different layers to the song that bring a brightness and presence along with them.

This is a track that simply feels good to listen to. It wraps itself around you and keeps you right where it wants to.

The energy is almost like a live performance. It feels like it was recorded live in the moment, and because that energy is so evident, it pulls you into that moment.

I feel like this is a band that knows how to thrive off of each other's energies, and because of that, there's a cohesive synergism that happens when they are writing or recording a track.

I'm sure these guys would be amazing to see live because of the experience you get just from this single.

This is indeed an experience. It pulls you away from whatever you're doing and puts you in this tripped out fuzz rock, garage-toned feel, and once you're in this layered and thick atmosphere, you don't want to leave.

You just want to stay there and soak it all in.

I love the distortion and amplified fuzziness from almost every element of this single. Even the organs have this kind of fuzzy tone at the end of the track.

Some elements are also drenched in reverb effect so you have that vast undertone coming through a lot of the time.

This also adds to that surf rock feel, but it makes it sound almost like something that came from the '70s but heavier and edgier.

Now, when I say edgy, I don't mean this is a fierce song or anything. It's vivacious, harmonious, bright, and has a slightly rambunctious feel and aesthetic.

It's very positive and spirited.

What grabs me is the atmosphere they can create with the textures and tones of their instruments.

The way they're able to build that atmosphere out and make sure that the mix of the song is in place so that the aesthetic sticks is incredible.

I don't always touch on the mix of a track, but with a song like this, it's very important. It does indeed make or break a song of this nature because there are a lot of thick layers to this sound, and bringing in the reverb, distortions, fuzz tones, and everything else involved adds to that trippiness and psychedelic style.

Whoever mixed this track, whether it was the band themselves or someone else, certainly knew their mission.

The aesthetic is completely nailed, and these guys created such a massive and sonically driving but, again, harmonious and spirited psych, surf, and stoner rock track that after it's over, you just want more and more.

Lucky for all of us, this is a single that is supposedly part of an upcoming album we can expect later this year.

I haven't had the chance to hear any of that, but if it's anything like this, I'm certainly looking forward to it and keeping my eyes peeled and my ears open.

Most definitely check this track out and soak in the vibes and energy it gives off.

It's an awesome time.

And of course, remember where you heard it first.
