The latest release from Carmie comes in the form of a lush EP that brings a cinematic pop soundscape with a complete and upfront set of truths that give you more than a few reasons to get attached to what's going on as the record unfolds.

Learn To Live manages to combine some of the best parts of genres like bedroom pop, dream pop, contemporary, and commercial pop, but it all has this almost atmospheric and vast undertone which is why it feels so big.

This is also why I like to call a record like this cinematic pop. It has a lot of emotional drive attached to it and that's part of what you get connected to as well.

Her lyrics are descriptive at times, and not only does everything come through with a certain level of catchiness and memorable approach but the whole record has this youthful cry out that captures these different emotions and how it feels to be a certain age.

I feel like this is why the record is actually called Learn To Live.

It is about her living her life and each of these songs is like a chapter that serves as not only a different kind of emotion at times but a different part of her story and this is one of the main reasons why you should be listening to this record from beginning to end.

The songs are connective and make sense together because you're hearing about her life and she's giving you these little pieces of herself in there with each track.

There's so much honesty just coming out. So much inner thought spilling out everywhere for you to soak in that it's beautiful.

This is, in my opinion, what true art is all about.

Just letting it out. It's so emotionally driving that it takes a minute to wrap your head around everything.

Listening to this track made me feel young. It gave me the same aesthetic and it's not about the sound of it. The soundscape of it is beautiful, almost orchestrated, arranged in intricate ways that include an array of instrumentation that come together and give off, a lush and full-bodied soundscape but with waves of emotion that come and go as well.

The soundscape is amazing but it's the lyrics that give you that feeling. It's not Nostalgia. It's just the feeling of the emotional highs and lows of being young and she's captured that so incredibly well with this record.

Her vocal performances are damn near perfection, to be honest. Everything feels like the sentiment comes through with authenticity and she lays everything on the line with performances that feel heartfelt and completely genuine.

You could say that this EP hit me a certain way and I loved hearing her stories. I loved how she gave so much inner thought within just one track that you could sit back and soak it all in.

I'll say it once more; this is an EP you listen to all the way through. It's meant to be heard as a whole.

Purely from a musical standpoint, some singles stand on their own two feet of course. From an artist and emotional standpoint, the record should be listened to with headphones on your cranium and from beginning to end.

I definitely loved this release simply because it gave so much to me. An artist who can give that much is someone that you should be paying attention to.

This was a personality-riddled and layered record that sheds a lot of light into the artist.

It was all beautifully built and there were more than a few melodies, moments, and sections that were incredibly memorable and had a way of staying with you.

So, put some headphones on and soak this record in because, not only is it worth your time, but you'll get something real from it.

It will affect you and that's the best part of it all.

Remember where you heard it first.
