A Fresh and Colorful Single from Oopsy Dazey

A new single release from OOPSY DAZEY comes with a colorful and slightly rambunctious soundscape in the form of an indie rock banger that boasts certain levels of vastness in its undertone and throughout the entire track you get a little glimpse into the character of the band.

"Spell It Out" was put together very well and I love the mix of this track because there is not only this indie rock tonality, but it also comes with horn sections and elements of reverb effect on vocals and certain other instruments as well that all build on that expansive underbelly and make things feel almost nostalgic in a strange way.

This was an endlessly fun track and one of my favorite aspects about it is that throughout half of it, there's this sort of lead guitar section going on that also has a little bit of reverb effect on it and sticks throughout a big chunk of the song so you have these great layers between horns, rhythm guitars, lead guitars, vocals, the thick underlying bass guitar, and the drumming that brings in this alive and breathing sort of feel.

I definitely adore how the energy of this track comes through as well. This is a perfect combination of color with hints of edginess and a lot of personality infused.

That energy level is not only electric, but it lends a hand to a live performance in a way because the track brings forth a semi-lo-fi production and this helps build that personal aesthetic really well.

It feels almost like the track was recorded live on the floor and all the band members were just feeding off of each other's energy the entire time giving the track that alive and breathing feel indeed.

I love the almost psychedelic fuzz tone element this track kicks off with as well and it balances this garage rock feel but has this calming element to it as well so it's not rambunctious really but has a youthful and robust tonality.

The track just has a great set of textures that are layered and balanced incredibly well bringing out that colorful approach and making the song warm and addictive.

I definitely love the way these guys put together their tracks and how they feel so authentic in their own way.

Upon listening to this track, I took a little bit of a trek through their back catalog on Spotify and these guys started releasing music last year on the platform but having listened through everything they've dropped, I can definitely say that their sound has a staple undertone. There is something that's very consistent about how they do their thing although they have evolved a little bit in the past few years.

A lot of their releases do have a sort of unique sonic drive to them that also gives off that same ambience and expansive undertone and I really enjoy that because it lets the songs feel big.

They have a self-titled album from 2023 that's just amazing all the way through, and you can tell that these guys love building atmospheres for you to get sucked into.

This is the kind of stuff that you can end up really being engulfed in, but it feels good to do just that.

I also love coming across a band that has a lot to offer in terms of releases and these guys certainly do in such a short amount of time.

You can tell they have a real love for what they're doing, and this is something they do purely because they want to.

If you dig this single then you're bound to dig a lot of their other stuff so definitely take a deep dive through their back catalog because it's worth your time, to say the least.

This stuff is again, sonically driving and unique with an amazing almost cinematic style vastness and a colorful personality to go along with everything.

There's a lot to get attached to.

Check this stuff out as soon as you can and remember where you heard it first.
