A Colorful and Honest New Single from Alexander Woods

A brand-new release from Alexander Woods gives off a unique and building approach to songwriting with a track that feels very subtle at first but then eventually grows into a more vast and edgy atmosphere as the song unfolds along with the intensity of the vocals, and it feels very engulfing in a great way.

"(Gotta Have) Another Night" is a track that gives off a great sort of honesty and he does get pretty descriptive with the lyrics so you're able to paint little pictures in your head as the song is going on but it's the way that everything's sort of builds and comes together that really intensifies things and creates that soundscape which pulls you in and keeps you right where it wants to.

The vocals are delivered with a very passionate style performance because it feels like a lot of this is emotionally driven however, the music has a sort of thriving indie pop feel at first and then it subtly but surely evolves into more of an almost dance-pop vibe as synths and keys come in that add these different and new textures to the song pick things up.

This was a very unique approach, but it works super well because it gives the song a bit of character and robustness as it plays on which I feel is part of the journey here.

The vocals and certain instrumentation have a lot of reverb effect on them, so the song does come through with a vastness and an expansive sort of underbelly which I also like because it adds to the cinematic backbone that the song boasts.

It is certainly the type of track that you can imagine in the scene of a film or a TV show because it does feel emotional especially with not only the lyrical content but the way that he's performing it.

There is a good amount of soul in those vocals even though it comes through in a sort of subtle and delicate manner. The vocals actually build and intensify with the song as I mentioned earlier so everything comes together and feels very forward moving.

This was beautifully done and showcases Alexander's ability to write a song that puts you in a bit of a trance and captures you for a moment in time.

I also really adore that combination of vintage pop and new school approaches coming together because that makes things feel quite refreshing.

It also gives you a little insight into some of his influences.

This track quickly becomes very danceable but it also again, has that cinematic and emotional drive to it so you pay a lot more attention to that the first time around, but you find yourself bobbing your head and grooving in your seat to it.

By the second time you listen to the track you're more up on your feet and dancing because it does have a great rhythm to it and that pop coating that makes everything sort of shine.

A brilliant track that lets presence as an artist come through with bright colors and inauthentic, honest tonality.

Dive into this track when you can and most certainly remember where you heard it first.
